The Micheaux Award and Film Labs invited K & C Media to speak on the mass communications students at The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff about the importance of storytelling. Engaging with the vibrant and talented students of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) is an enlightening and enriching experience for anyone. Speaking to the students at UAPB was a memory we will always cherish, as several of our team attended the university!
Being advocates for diverse storytelling, our recent interaction with UAPB students reinforced the profound importance of amplifying underrepresented voices in the media landscape. The passion, creativity, and unique perspectives we shared in our presentation highlighted the crucial role that storytelling plays in shaping perceptions, challenging stereotypes, and fostering inclusivity.
